Life has been nipping at my heels the last few weeks throwing my writing schedule off into the universe. Waves goodbye. It will be a while before I see “normal” again… whatever that is, but the release of Family Matters, book 2 of In the Best Interest of the Child, is not far away… just not as close as I’d like… like last month! 😉

“Reyna.” Benny nodded at her. “It was very nice meeting you. Let me know if you ever change your mind about sticking this man in a cage.”
She chuckled and accepted the partial embrace from the older man.
“Guess I better be on my best behavior,” Corbyn said.
“Oh, why ruin a good thing now?” Reyna sighed sweetly, causing Benny to laugh wholeheartedly.
“Damn good time to start, Bruschard!” he called after them.
Waving above his head as they walked away, Corbyn grinned at Reyna and pulled her closer to his side. Returning to the club was a pleasant relief, but heaven was found when they stepped out into the fresh afternoon air and the more tolerable noise of the city. Reyna inhaled deeply, closing her eyes to feel the warmth of the sun on her face. More heat enveloped her with the hand Corbyn used to cup her cheek. Backing her into the wall, he feasted on her mouth, his grip tightening possessively.
“A thousand times over, I will make that up to you, falleg,” he vowed. “I thought I lost you today. That wasn’t how I wanted to show you how grateful I am that I didn’t.”
“Corbyn, I’m the one who insisted on coming here,” she reminded him, blinking to clear her blurry vision.
“If I would’ve just told you the truth.” He shook his head.
“I still would’ve insisted, just to sate my curiosity,” she admitted.
Studying her face, Corbyn pressed a soft kiss to her lips again. “I have no idea how I got so damn lucky,” he confessed aloud.
“Oh, I’m only in it for the thousand-times-over repayment plan.” She smiled coyly.
Laughing, he kissed her loudly, almost playfully on the mouth, before his expression turned carnal. “Can I repay you in orgasms?”

A wife, mother, daughter, sister, blogger and indie author, Felicia loves all things book-related and coffee-related. A southern girl by birth, the fifty-something, voracious reader now resides in Arizona (via Michigan and California) with her husband of thirty-three years. Their three adult children also reside in Arizona – with their dogs. Felicia frequently reminds them she is the only one of her parents’ nine children who isn’t a grandparent.
Writing has been a hobby of Felicia’s since grade school, but other than serving as editor and writing for her high school newspaper, she never publicly shared anything until the early 2000s when she began writing fan fiction. At the urging of a good friend, Felicia took on the challenge of NaNoWriMo in 2015, writing what would become her first published book, In the Best Interest of the Child. It was released in the fall of 2016.
In her free time, Felicia sews, creates new recipes, and of course, reads. She’s also an avid history buff and loves exploring museums and libraries.

D.E. Haggerty was born and raised in Wisconsin but thinks she’s a European. While spending her senior year of high school in Germany, she developed a wicked case of wanderlust that is yet to be cured. After high school, D.E. returned to the U.S. to attend college – ending up with a Bachelor’s degree in History at the tender age of twenty while still managing to spend time bouncing back and forth to Europe during her vacations.
Unable to find a job after college and still suffering from wanderlust, D.E. joined the U.S. Army as a Military Policewoman for five years. While stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, she met her future husband, a flying Dutchman. After earning her freedom from the Army, D.E. went off to law school. She finished the required curriculum but jumped ship and joined her flying Dutchman in the Netherlands before the graduation ceremony could even begin.
In Holland, D.E. became a commercial lawyer specialized in IT for over a decade. During a six-month break from the law, she wrote her first book, Unforeseen Consequences. Although she finished the novel, she hid the manuscript in the attic and went back to the law. When she could no longer live in the lawyering world, she upped stakes and moved to Germany to start a B&B. Three years after starting the B&B, she got the itch to try something new yet again and pulled the manuscript for Unforeseen Consequences out of the attic. After publishing the book, she figured she may have finally found what she wanted to do with her life and went on to write Buried Appearances.
When her husband found a job opportunity in Istanbul, D.E. couldn’t pack fast enough. She spent more than two years in Istanbul furiously writing and learning everything she could about the publishing world. This is when D.E. wrote her popular The Gray-Haired Knitting Detectives and Death by Cupcake series.
When the pull to return to her adopted home became too much, D.E. upped stakes and moved to The Hague where she’s currently working on her next book.
