Dirty Trust
Special Weapons & Tactics 6
By Peyton Banks
There was no forgetting the past. Mistakes were made, but now he’s ready to right his wrong.
Iker Baldwin was used to making hard decisions in his line of work. For the SWAT team, it could be a matter of life or death. As a seasoned officer, protecting and serving was what he did. So when he had to decide what to do in his personal life, he chose to protect.
Which meant walking away from the love of his life.
In the back of his mind, he knew he had made the wrong decision.
Jessica Horton was finally back on her feet. A bad heartbreak two years ago wasn’t going to keep her down. She was determined to move on with her life. The memory of her past love would always be with her, but now there was someone new.
Like an addict going back for the next hit, Iker needed to see Jessica. One glance at her, and he would move on. That’s what he tried to convince himself. One look, and he knew he couldn’t stay away.
He was determined to win back her love and trust, but just as he had feared in the past, she’s the primary target of a new unknown enemy. Iker was willing to give it all up to save her, but will he be too late?

I pay attention to a lot of the book reviews and releases. I am wondering though about these male models they use for the covers. Is it to get the attention of readers or to emphasize the impact of the character or both? Just wondering.

Don’t quote me on this, but I’ve read more than a few books with male model covers, and I believe it’s either to set a tone, or eye-candy for the cover-driven crowd.
Whatever floats the boat, but I have two ongoing issues with the covers. One, the written description IN the story almost never matches the cover. I’m told the cover is simply a representation, but for me, it’s a fail. And two, if it’s a female-driven story, with a female protagonist, why isn’t there a female on the cover?
Okay, I’m done! *Kicks soapbox back into the corner* 😀 😀

Thanks for responding. I have a hard time when the cover doesn’t match the story, if the author has put effort into putting a picture on the cover. I would rather just have words if they aren’t going to match. Unfortunately for some authors I do just some books by their covers.
