Mark Rosendorf is a high school guidance counselor in the New York City Department of Education’s Special Education district. He is also a former professional magician, and a writer. Mark is credited with published novels in various genres which includes The Rasner Effect series. He eventually decided on an early retirement from writing. When asked why, Mark’s usual answer was because he lost his favorite pen. Then, one night, at two a.m., a new and unique story shot into his brain like a lightning bolt, screaming for him to write it. Suddenly, Mark found himself spending several nights taking notes on the characters and their stories. That is how The Witches of Vegas was born and is now on these pages. This is Mark’s first young adult novel.

As co-owner of a small multi-media production company, Head First Media, I first started doing voice over for projects the company produced. Over the next 17 years, 3 personalized children’s CDs and several video projects later, I discovered that voice over was the thing that I enjoyed the most. In 2016 a friend urged me to narrate audiobooks, something I’d never thought about. I did and loved it! I was fortunate enough to land several additional voice over gigs over the next couple of years and in 2018 I decided to do voice over full time. As of February 2021, I have recorded 25 audiobooks and a few hundred voice overs for everything from TV and radio commercials, online web commercials, training videos, explainer videos, online classes for a university and just about anything else you can think of. Excerpt from The Muse

“You’re an arrogant bastard, Scott Foxton,” she shouts, struggling in my hold. “They did not throw me out!”

She twists and turns her body as if she’s still on stage, ire and temper getting her nowhere against my size. All it does is wind up parts of me I’m desperately trying to ignore, as does the feeling of her being so close. Eyes—blue. Deep blue with tiny pinpricks of a pupil. Lips—soft, blush pink. Fine hair sweeps across my skin, the slight smell of lemons coming with it, as the feel of her transfers even more imagery, even more thoughts that I should not be thinking.

I let go and back away before this turns into something it shouldn’t, pointing at the door in the same breath. “I suggest you take the opportunity to leave, Ms Castlewood. My patience is wearing thin, you’re winding me up, and rough foreplay isn’t something I mind in the slightest.”

Everything about her face, all the anger and venom morphs into surprise. It’s then that I realise what I’ve just said. Christ. Young enough to be my daughter and I’m talking dirty?

“Leave,” snarls out of me.

It’s all I’ve got. I’m not apologising for it or the review. And if she gives me any more time to not think about what I’m doing here, this is going to turn very dirty extremely quickly.

Thankfully, after a minute’s worth of those soft lips and her panting breath teasing me some more, she gathers her cardigan slowly and heads for the still open door. Not another word. No look back either.

Good.
