His hands and his commanding nature are all I want in this life I’ve chosen for myself. Everyone thinks they know what’s best for me. I’m a preacher’s daughter, but it doesn’t mean I’m innocent. But, there’s only one man I want, and he doesn’t do long term relationships. When another shows interest in me, he fights for me. I want nothing more than to be his submissive. I will always submit to him because it’s Maddox—the only man I’ve ever wanted.
She’s a preacher’s daughter and innocent in every way that matters. When I take the very last of her innocence, I let her go because I don’t commit. But, she’s embedded herself into my heart, and I can’t let her go. When another threatens to take her from me, I do anything and everything in my power to make her mine. My heart was frozen solid until I met her—loving her has changed me because she’ll always be the exception to all my rules.
Leigh Lennon is a mother, veteran and a wife of a cancer survivor. Originally with a degree in education, she started writing as an outlet that has led to a deep passion. She lugs her computer with her as she crafts her next story. Her imaginary friends become real on her pages as she creates a world for them. She loves pretty nails, spikey hair and large earrings. Leigh can be found drinking coffee or wine, depending on the time of the day.
Some of the greatest romances start with a fairy tale.
Cassaundra Moore, event planner extraordinaire, stopped believing in fairy tales only in creating them for her clients. Why would she believe something so magical would happen to her after being scammed by her ex-husband, causing her loss of business and social standing. But when Adam Simmons, candidate for governor of Virginia comes along, making a proposition that would not only help propel him in the race, but also relieve her of her financial worries, she has to redefine what fairy tales are made of.
In Name Only explores one man and one woman’s decision made out of convenience that forces them to consider there was something else at play. They both yearned for love.
I loved everything about In Name Only!
Past hurts and betrayals have left Adam Simmons closed to any ideas of a relationship. But the young congressman and gubernatorial candidate’s single status has him slipping in the polls. Thanks to character-assassination stories written by a spurned reporter, Adam is seen as a playboy with no instability by women voters.
He needs a wife.
Event planner Cassaundra Moore finally has her head above water again. Her criminal attorney ex-husband, Marcus, had been involved in illegal activities and she didn’t find out until he was indicted, had drained her bank accounts, and ruined her credit and professional reputation.
A temporary marriage to Adam would solve her financial issues and enhance her client base.
As it turns out, Cassie’s cousin is Adam’s best friend and campaign manager. After discussions and still having doubts, the couple is married.
Fake relationships/marriages are not one of my favorite romance tropes, but even though Adam and Cassie got together for personal gain, they never felt fake. Though they agree to “play by the rules” they quickly come to care for each other but are wont to admit their true feelings. Yet while they have issues to work through, they are not their biggest problem. Adam’s opponent who publicly questions the quick marriage, Adam’s parents who feel he married beneath him, and the deliciously vile snooty, bougie mother who thought her daughter was a “better fit” for Adam all deliver their own brand of outside pressure to the new marriage. Cassie holds her own with them all… even though she wanted to slap the hell out of bougie mama! HA!
But it’s the spurned reporter who keeps popping up to make trouble, and when she takes aim at Cassie, all bets are off.
Adam and Cassie are good, strong characters, with great back-up from Tina and Spyder, Cassie’s cousins, and Adam’s sister, Sara.
In Name Only is what romance is about and delivers the best kind of HEA. I’m looking forward to the next books in the series.
