Synopsis

Horrific plane crash, murderous deception, and a deadly chase in the alligator-infested Florida Everglades!

On the afternoon of May 11, 1996, ValuJet 592 plunged into the Florida Everglades. There were no survivors. But something came through the crash unscathed: a small box with huge implications for humankind. And the one man unlucky enough to discover its whereabouts disappeared without a trace.

Now, 20 years later, the mystery of Flight 592 hits close to home for Del Honeycutt and best-selling mystery author Sabrina Spencer. A shocking revelation launches them into the middle of a dark conspiracy, and locating the box becomes a matter of life or death. They are not alone in the hunt for the mysterious package and very quickly learn that others will stop at nothing to find it, eliminating anyone who stands in their way.

With killers hot on their trail, Del and Sabrina must navigate dangers lurking both above and below the swamp waters of the Everglades in order to find the box…and to survive.

I’m the author of novels in several genres, including, mystery, thriller, and post-apocalyptic science fiction. Under the name A.R. Cunningham, I’ve also written the Arthur MacArthur series of mysteries for children.

I was born in England, but have spent most of my life living in the U.S.—including 25 years on Cape Cod before moving to Florida. A former interpreter for the deaf and long-time independent bookseller, I’ve been a full-time freelance writer and copy editor for many years. A 4th-degree Master Black belt in Tang Soo Do, I finally retired from active training when my body said, “Enough already! Why are you doing this to yourself?” I’m married, with two grown children and two awesome grandsons. My wife and I spend as much time traveling as we can, and are especially fond of cruising the Caribbean.

I have been gratified by the response to my books. When I published Eden Rising back in the spring of 2013, I had no idea what to expect. When I sold my first few copies, I was excited beyond belief that someone was willing to take a chance on it. Numerous books and thousands of copies later, I am still humbled by the emails I get from readers telling me that my books kept them up late into the night.

In October of 2014, Wisdom Spring made me an official Amazon Bestselling author, a thrill I never thought would happen. But it still comes down to being able to bring a few hours of escape to a reader. That’s what it’s all about for me.

I hope you will try my books. Please feel free to email me with your comments.

Narrator Bio

Author-preferred Narrator of Mysteries & Thrillers

Narrating audiobooks is highly gratifying. I immerse myself into an author’s story in order to bring it to life for the listener. I’ve enjoyed working with Andrew Cunningham for several years. His books are filled with rich characters, and the stories keep me turning the pages.

I also work as a background actor in movies and TV shows.

For more than 20 years, I worked as a radio news reporter and news writer. I spent half of my broadcasting career at ABC News Radio in the Washington, D.C., bureau. I covered all the federal agencies as well as Congress and the White House. I reported on a wide range of stories during my career, including financial and entertainment industry news.

For nearly 24 years, I worked as a federal government spokesman at three separate agencies—National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Mint and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

5/5 Stars!

This read hits the ground running and never lets up!

Downstairs neighbor, Seymour, has always been the crotchety older guy who kept to himself while running his online eBay business. After he kills one of two intruders sent to murder him, Seymour shares a story with Del, Sabrina, and Mo that takes him back twenty years to a different life when murder was also committed, but not by him.  Del Honeycutt and Sabrina Spencer commit to helping him find out who wants him dead and why.

Secrets & Lies has it all—a great plot, surprising twists, suspense, and even an anonymous government agency led by a man with questionable allegiances, but what I enjoyed most is the characters. The four well-defined leads of the story couldn’t be more different, but they blend well together. Del’s self-deprecating humor—and Seymour’s one-liners—provide comic relief. Mo’s martial arts moves bring more moments to stand up and cheer, and Sabrina can smooze anyone. Kudos to the author for delivering female characters who are strong, confident women able to handle themselves without being sassy or feisty.

The amazing narration of the book keeps the story moving forward with edge-of-the-seat suspense. I also like how the narrator doesn’t mimic female voices but uses appropriate dialogue tags to indicate who’s speaking. The flow wasn’t interrupted, and I was never “taken out” of the moment.

Set aside some time for this wild ride where the good guys win… if they can stay alive.

I volunteered to review this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Greg Hernandez. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Publisher: Errin Stevens

Released: Jul. 17, 2019

Series: The Mer Chronicles, Book 3

Length: 11 hours 16 minutes

Genre: Romantic Fantasy

“Falling, falling…. Maya was airborne again, suspended between a landless platform above and an inscrutable expanse of water below.” Maya’s headlong rush into marriage isn’t working out…and it isn’t the only collision course she’s on these days. Her saltwater distractions aside, her father-in-law wants her gunned down for reasons unknown, and her pesky bodyguard – when he’s around – seems intent on drowning her in want and regret.

Maya is desperate to hold onto any small part of herself she understands. When escape becomes her only option, she finds herself in a race against a past – and a man – she can’t outrun.

Errin Stevens writes paranormal romantic suspense stories from her home in Minnesota. When not wrestling with unruly narrative – or reading literary and commercial fiction like a fiend – you’ll find her poring over seed catalogues (winter) or gardening (the other three days of the year).

Song Lyric Sunday | “All I Want is Forever” – JT Taylor & Regina Belle

Song Lyric Sunday_new

Song Lyric Sunday was created by Helen Vahdati from This Thing Called Life One Word at a Time and author Jim Adams from A Unique Title For Me is our current guest host. For complete rules or to join in the fun, click here.

This week’s theme is  Duets.

~~~~~~~~~~
I’m in my third year of participating in Song Lyric Sunday and I cannot remember a more difficult theme than this week’s duets simply because there are SO MANY to choose from!
Whether it’s by generations/decades, genres or music eras, anyone can easily name a dozen.
As I narrowed my choices down, my love of duets from movie soundtracks became more than apparent. With a list of nine, I couldn’t say any one song was my favorite and choose just two–one for here and one for FeliciaDenise.com–so I went with which songs spoke to me the most.
That helped me choose All I Want is Forever sang by James “J.T.” Taylor and Regina Belle and written by the phenomenal Diane Warren. The song is the first single released from the soundtrack of the 1989 dance drama, Tap, starring Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis, Jr.
The movie centers around Hines as Max Washington. Just released from prison, he must decide which of his previous professions to return to: burglary or tap dancing… and the woman he’s never forgotten.
All I Want is Forever didn’t chart but it did receive an official video with
Taylor and Belle singing inter-spliced with scenes from the movie.
FUN FACTS
  • While not big box office, Tap is notable for being the final film appearance of Sammy Davis, Jr, who died the following year, and for a dance challenge sequence by dance legends Arthur Duncan (known as a performer on the Lawrence Welk show from 1964 to 1982), Bunny Briggs, Howard Sims (Sandman Sims of the Apollo Theatre), Steve Condos, Harold Nicholas (of the Nicholas Brothers. He and older brother, Fayad are known as two of the world’s greatest dancers), and Jimmy Slyde.
  • Tap also features a young Savion Glover as Davis’ grandson. He would go on to win Broadway’s 1996 Tony Award for Best Choreographer for the musical he starred in and co-created with George C. Wolfe called Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk; which also brought him a Best Actor (Musical) Tony nomination.
  • Before his rise to fame, Taylor was a schoolteacher and amateur night club singer.
  • He joined Kool & the Gang in 1978 and became the band’s lead singer in 1979.
  • Regina has had notable success with soundtrack duets. The theme song Far Longer than Forever from the animated movie The Swan Princess, performed with Jeffrey Osborne, was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1995 for Best Original Song, and A Whole New World, the main theme of the Disney’s animated feature film Aladdin, recorded in 1992, which Belle and Peabo Bryson won the 1994 Grammy award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. A Whole New World also is the first and so far, only song from a Disney animated film to top the US Billboard Hot 100.
  • Regina successfully battled a brain tumor in 2009. However, she is now deaf in her left ear.
Enjoy!
