Preslaysa Williams is an award-winning author of contemporary romance and women’s fiction with an Afro-Filipina twist. She loves sharing her culture with her readers.

Her writing awards include the Indiana Romance Writers of America’s (RWA) Golden Opportunity Award and the ACFW Genesis Award. In addition, her stories have been a finalist in the Northwest Houston RWA Lone Star Writing Contest, the Windy City RWA Four Seasons Contest, and the Valley of the Sun RWA Hot Prospects Contest.

She has an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and a MPA from the University of South Carolina. She is also a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar, a Jackie Robinson Foundation Extra Innings Fellow, and a Sol Spiegelman Scholar. Preslaysa is currently earning a MFA in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University.

In addition, she’s a professional actress. She started acting at age eight, joining the Screen Actors Guild as a teenager when she co-starred on the Nickelodeon TV show, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo.

She’s an avid bookworm and planner nerd who hoards pens, pencils, and notebooks in her spare time. In her daily life, you’ll find her wearing mismatched socks while being a homeschool mom. Preslaysa presently makes her home in Virginia with her husband and two children.

Such a compelling read! Who’s dead? Who’s dying? Why is someone trying to kidnap two women who just met and how is it connected to deaths spanning almost five decades?

A twisty plot with a villain who’s a little mad, but aren’t we all?

Harper Taylor knows little about her past. Her mom died in a car accident moments after her birth and her horrid grandmother died of an overdose.

Running away from the ugliness of foster care brings her to wealthy Oliver Jackson, who becomes her mentor despite the fact his children despise Harper.

Years later, a DNA match on an ancestry app may provide the answers Harper longs to find out about her anonymous father. It could also hold secrets someone doesn’t want known and may kill to keep them hidden… if they haven’t killed already.

Strong characters drive Strands of Truth. Harper is likeable and wears the trauma of her childhood well without being whiny and dramatic. She doesn’t trust easily and keeps people at a distance but leans on her strong faith for guidance. Oliver’s son, Ridge is… rigid, but the natural growth of his character is golden.

His sister and mother, Willow and Christina? YIKES! Not so likeable but this read includes redemption so get ready.

I figured out the why but not the who before the reveal, and that left me shaking my head. Whaaaaaat? The lengths some people will go to. Obsession isn’t just a parfum by Calvin Klein.

The sweet conclusion wraps up loose ends and had me looking forward to a happy future for all the innocent people.

Strands of Truth will appeal to readers of all genres, especially inspirational, romantic suspense and mysteries.

Prologue January 1990 St. Petersburg, Florida Lisa ran to her Datsun Bluebird and jerked open the yellow door. Her pulse strummed in her neck, and she glanced behind her to make sure she wasn’t being followed. She’d tried not to show fear during the confrontation, but it was all she could do not to cry. She couldn’t face life without him. She’d been on edge ever since yesterday. Twilight backlit the treetops and highlighted the hanging moss. Instead of finding it beautiful, she saw frightening shadows and shuddered. She slid under the wheel and started the engine, then pulled out of her driveway onto the road. She turned toward the Gulf. The water always calmed her when she was upset—and she had crossed upset moments ago and swerved into the scared zone. Her belly barely fit under the wheel, but this baby would be born soon, then she’d have her figure back. She accelerated away from her home, a dilapidated one-story house with peeling white paint, and switched on her headlights. The radio blared full of the news about the Berlin Wall coming down, but Lisa didn’t care about that, not now. She switched channels until she found Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’ ”playing, but even her favorite tune failed to sooth her shattered nerves. Could she seriously be murdered over this? She’d glimpsed madness in those eyes. She pressed the brakes as she came to a four-way stop, but the brake pedal went clear to the floor. She gasped and pumped the pedal again. No response. The car shot through the intersection, barely missing the tail end of another vehicle that had entered it before her.
