The theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is “street.”

~~~~~~~~~~
Of course, the first song which came to mind featuring this week’s theme was Martha and the Vandellas’ Dancing in the Street.
I passed on it.
But, have no fear, because a street is also a road… which leads us to Boyz II Men’s End of the Road.
It’s not possible to remember the 90s without this amazing group getting a front row seat. Their smooth harmonies and heartfelt lyrics made them one of music’s most successful groups.
Debuting June 30, 1992, End of the Road was the group’s first number one single breaking 13 weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, a record broken later in the year by Whitney Houston’s 14-week number one hit I Will Always Love You; Boyz II Men would later match Houston’s record with I’ll Make Love to You, which spent 14 weeks at number one in 1994, and then reclaim the record with One Sweet Day (a duet with Mariah Carey), which spent 16 weeks at number one from 1995 to 1996.
End of the Road, ranked at number 50 on Billboards “All Time Top 100 Songs,” also won two Grammys for “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals” and “Best R&B Song”.
The song and video tell of a guy who knows his time with his girl is coming to an end, but he isn’t ready to let her go.
Enjoy!
