Day 2 at Dark Day Isle hits the ground running!

Felix and Tessa are still working out the dynamics of their D/s relationship which means drama time!

First, they must deal with what Tessa overheard in the conversation between Felix and Louis. She has serious doubts and reservations, and I can’t blame her. No one wants to be second best or a replacement… period! Doesn’t matter the lifestyle or relationship.

Felix went a long way to assuage her doubts, but not far enough for me. The man protesteth a bit too much for me which can only mean…he’s hiding something!

Don’t worry, I still love you, Felix!

Tessa’s a bit off balance but holding her own. I like that her internal thoughts are never too far from what she actually says. Same goes for Felix.

These two have to build a foundation of trust within the six remaining days in order for them both to get the benefit of their time together.

Why the trust?

Because the kink factor is off the charts! (HA!)

Felix went over Tessa’s personal file even before the auction and knows what her hard limits are.

And maaaan! Does he push that envelope?! And Tessa loves it.

Which is why I enjoy this author’s books so much… because I KNOW Tessa. Her thoughts and feelings are conveyed in such a manner that I already KNOW how she’s going to react when Felix introduces a new kink.

Felix is also well-written in that his thoughts are dominant and male, not simply what a woman would want a man to think or say.

You don’t need to be knowledgeable in Power Exchange to enjoy Scavenger. This author weaves explanations through dialogue and thoughts with such subtleness, you don’t even realize you’re being schooled. I don’t necessarily need to know the why behind what drives their needs, just that that it’s all well thought out and consensual.

New characters are introduced in Scavenger and more is learned about Louis. Taber’s a hoot! Domme Alise Moreau slithers into the mix and I dislike her as much as Tessa does.

I like that Felix typed up a contract, no matter that it was a short list. Tessa had never been in a D/s situation without one and it made her feel more secure. She’s open and honest to a fault. Can Felix reciprocate? Time for some revelations, confessions and epiphanies!

It’s day two of the exclusive getaway on Dark Day Isle, and Felix’s smoldering lust isn’t the only thing to greet Tessa come morning.
