Devils Only.

It was a permanent note-to-self tattooed right above Kameo Kross’s panties, because anything less was a disappointment. Had anyone cared to issue the warning: Be careful what you wish for, she might have thought twice before wording it like an actual invitation.

Kami doesn’t fear pain, death or eternal damnation. She fears only submitting completely. A matter she usually has well in hand… until an unexpected detour into kink and a relentless bastard of a new boss decide to put all of her resistance–and chosen ink–to the trickiest of tests.

Excerpt:

Monday night was book club night. Kami completely forgot about that until the ladies started showing up right around six o’clock. Zoe had spent the afternoon grilling her about her first day on the job, why she’d come home early and what it had been like dining with Owen Cethridge—information and snapshots that were already spread all over the social media sites thanks to the other diners at Delmonico’s. Kami’s name and position at Kress & Wolfe Financial were now e-tabloid fodder, with the speculations running the gamut from the innocent, to the most clichéd of Kami fulfilling the personal aspects of personal assistant quite thoroughly.

We all know M.W. Kress surrounds himself with beautiful women all of the time, so are we really that surprised, ppl? Just look at the rest of his immediate staff!

The best part about book club night? Free wine. Kami wasn’t shy about helping herself to a big glass of Sangria, before escaping to her room. She figured that was fair payment for answering the ladies’ rapid-fire questions on the run. After giving herself time to unwind, she started going back over her notes from the intern interviews. Knowing they’d be combining them with HR in the morning, she wanted to make sure they were both sensible and legible. Blinking up from the paper, she wondered if Jake would also be in on that meeting. Ugh. Lord, help me…

When her phone signaled, Kami narrowed her eyes at the clock. It was two minutes past seven. Seriously? Oh, she knew who it was. It was her Blackberry making noise and there only seemed to be one person on Earth who enjoyed making her life that miserable. Digging it out of her purse, she opened Mr. Kress’s new text.

I’ve finished all I could accomplish for today much earlier than I anticipated, so I’ve renewed our reservations at the Strip House for 8:00.

He was joking, right? Unfortunately, she knew he wasn’t. Though she was learning M.W. Kress was not completely devoid of a sense of humor, it still didn’t mean he ever took on the role of comedian. Hitting the reply button, she pointed out the obvious.

I have nothing to wear to the Strip House and all of the shops are already closed.

Crossing her fingers, she closed her eyes and prayed he would change his mind.

Nothing to worry about, I’ve already taken care of it.

Of course he had. Before she could respond, she heard someone knocking on the front door and her heart dropped to her stomach. No. No… he wouldn’t possibly… shit, the book club! Jumping to her feet, her pulse was thumping in her ears, as she raced out of her bedroom. At the same moment, Zoe swung the front door open and everything seemed to slow to a crawl. The boisterous female chatter dwindled to dead silence, eyes widening and mouths dropping open one by one. Zoe stumbled backwards when M.W. Kress, himself, stepped across the threshold, a garment bag draped over his arm, a shoebox clutched in his hand. His jade gaze scanned over the group of women gathered in the living room and he gave a shallow tilt of his head.

“Ladies,” he greeted.

Kami swore she heard more than one of them whimper like a schoolgirl. Then his eyes were locking right onto hers and it was at that precise moment an evil, self-deprecating part of her decided to meekly whisper: Psst, you’re wearing plaid pajama bottoms and a tank-top, not a skirt and heels. Just thought you should know…

It took all of her willpower not to bare her teeth as she continued forward and took the shoebox from him, then the garment bag. His eyes roamed over her comfy clothes, before returning to her face.

“I’ll wait for you in the car, Miss Kross,” he said, having no problems displaying that devious little smirk now.

“Chicken,” she muttered lowly, giving him a knowing glare.

He flashed another mildly amused look over his shoulder then disappeared around the doorjamb and beyond. Storming over, Kami kicked the door closed.

“Man, forget my book boyfriend, I want that one!” One of the women declared, signaling the end of the group’s silence.

Kami heard her best friend suck in a breath; a preamble to another round of twenty-questions. Pivoting on her heels, she pointed. “Eh-eh. Not a word.”

Tucking the shoebox under her arm, she snatched the glass of wine out of Zoe’s hand and went back to her room.

As much as she would’ve loved to take her sweet ass time just for spite, she couldn’t muster the balls to do it. She reminded herself, yet again, that she had no place feeling put out when she’d willingly signed up for the Always Available clause. That, and when she opened the garment bag to find a sleeveless, virgin wool dress by Armani, she couldn’t wait to put the damn thing on. It was classic black, with a pencil skirt that started about an inch below her breasts and hugged every curve down to mid-thigh. The loose top crossed at the thin belt and flowed over her shoulders, leaving her cleavage bare for all to see. She tried not to think too much about the fact that it fit perfectly, chalking it up to Mr. Kress either having a keen eye or blind luck.

It felt strange taking her hair down, but she looked too much like a woman heading back to the office with it still up, not on her way to dinner. Checking her reflection one last time, Kami took a steadying breath and left her sanctuary to the gasps and catcalls of the book club. Zoe even had her phone at the ready. Giving her an exasperated look, she posed for one shot, making the pixie squeal like an overzealous mom on prom night.

“Girl, you are one fine ass PA,” she complimented.

“Thank you,” Kami accepted, letting her bestie’s natural exuberance seep in, lighten her own mood. “I’m also going to be a fired PA, if I don’t hurry.”

Zoe snorted. “Okay,” she smirked skeptically. “Am I not waiting up?”

“I’m not dignifying that with an answer,” she sang over her shoulder.

Risking the temperamental elevator rather than the sweat-inducing stairs, Kami’s breath caught when the doors slid open to Mr. Kress standing right before her. Again, she found herself trapped in the intensity of his penetrating gaze. The box seemed to shrink in on her when he leaned into it, stopping the doors from closing with his hands while he continued his survey all of the way down her body and up again. Finally, he held one out for her to take. Her insides were already a hot mess. She wanted to blame the wine, but knew that was the only thing keeping her from shaking like a leaf when she placed her hand into his broad, masculine palm.

The feel of it touched along the fringes of her Halloween memories and she prayed she wouldn’t get hit with another new one. That reminded her of his Mr. Cethridge comment prior to dropping her off earlier and she prayed he wouldn’t bring it up again. Which prayer had more odds of failing, she wondered?

Leading her through the small lobby to the limousine, he never once complimented her on how she looked in the dress he’d picked out. He simply continued to stare at her and she hated how much more effective that was than words. Unable to handle the heady, thrumming pulse of her own attraction to him, she was the first to break eye contact once they were settled in the car.

“So, who are we meeting for dinner?” She was curious if it would be another celebrity of the banking world, or someone less conspicuous.

“No one,” he answered at length, forcing her to look at him again. “It’s not a business dinner, Kameo.”

What? The scant amount of courage Kami had scattered to the nearest corners.

“I wanted the opportunity to get to know you better, outside of the office,” he elaborated. “Outside of our professional obligations and settings. Dig a little deeper into that personal character.”

Pulse beating thickly, sluggishly, in her veins, she fell back on sarcasm out of self-preservation. “Yay, another interview.”

His gaze slowly raked over her again. “Don’t worry,” he said in a low voice. “You’ve already passed the most important one.”

No way in hell she was touching that. Not when his voice sounded like it was looking for a chunk of flesh to sink its teeth into. In fact, ever since he’d greeted her at the elevator, his demeanor had carried a note of something a bit raw and primal. Either that or her imagination was in an awfully saucy mood tonight.

I Love Puzzles!

5/5 Stars!

I was drawn into Avarice from the start. Kameo Kross is an incomplete puzzle. From the tragic circumstances surrounding her birth, to her obsession with Halloween, to her tattoo that throws down the gauntlet and issues a provocative challenge. We have several pieces of the puzzle – but none of them fit together. Kami’s submissive nature leads her on a still unfulfilled search for the ultimate…? Even she can’t put a name on what she’s looking for, but knows she’ll know when she finds it. But WHY does she feel this thirst for pain? Does her birth make her feel unworthy? Is she punishing herself for living?

Kami’s Halloween tryst with ‘Bull Man’ makes me anxious. Why can’t she remember what happened? Why does she only have flashes of that night at certain times? She also doesn’t remember exchanging numbers with Master D, but eagerly rushes to an evening of submission with him. Then there’s MW Kress – evidently God’s gift to the world of finance, and all things male and dominant. His reasons for hiring Kami made me immediately dislike him, and that 24/7 required availability sent my fertile mind into overdrive! Now he’s getting up close and personal and looking forward to the end of her probation? Um, why pray tell? What’s his game? And is there a connection between Kress, Master D and Bull Man? Will Kami’s roommate, Zoe, give in to temptation and tell all with a social media blast? What does Kami TRULY want? (I know I want a drink!)

Um, Kami’s last visit to see Master D – WTH? I cringed through most of it…and I couldn’t stop reading! Love how Kami got pissed off and ballsy…but I did not see that ending coming! Hopefully though, I’ll see BOOK TWO soon! *Nods to author*

A strong, well developed plot with complex characters challenges the reader to complete this puzzle, and you definitely have your work cut out for you.

Enjoy!

“Sweetest Obsession” by Ann Mayburn #BlogTour 18+

This is a STANDALONE insta-obsession erotic romance set in the Cordova Empire series (no cheating-HEA-no cliffhanger)

Ramon

In my family, there’s an old story going back generations about love at first sight. I used to think it was a fairytale, until I met my sweet Joy. The more I got to know her, the more I wanted her. But the world of the cartels is a dangerous place, so I watched her from afar, wishing things were different and I could claim her for my own. Despite my best efforts to keep her safe, evil found Joy. After she endured a savage beating at the hands of a rival cartel, I vowed to do everything in my power to make her mine and win her heart. I can only pray that when she finds out the truth about me, and the things I’ve done to bind her to me forever, that she’ll be able to love the monster I really am.

Joy

Without a doubt, Ramon Cordova is one of the biggest jerks I’ve ever met. He’s egotistical, bossy, and seems to know how to push all my buttons. Too bad he’s also sinfully handsome, utterly charming when he wants to be, and is the only man I feel safe with. After the attack, I’ve become afraid of the world outside of my home—afraid of crowds, afraid of loud noises, afraid of everything. When I’m in Ramon’s strong arms, those fears melt away. I know there’s a darkness inside of him that he tries to hide, and I’m afraid that when I finally find out the secrets he’s been keeping, he’ll destroy what’s left of my battered heart.

With over forty published books, Ann is Queen of the Castle to her husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she’s been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead-though she will deny to her children that it ever happened.

From a young Ann has had a love affair with books would read everything she could get her hands on. As Ann grew older, and her hormones kicked in, she discovered bodice ripping Fabio-esque romance novels. They were great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as muchd etail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she’s never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her ‘sexy space’ and has accepted that her Muse has a severe case of ADD.

Ann loves to talk with her fans, as long as they realize she’s weird, and that sarcasm doesn’t translate well via text.

14 Invisible Illnesses You May Not Know About

Medical Record

Invisible illnesses are conditions patients have that are not obvious when looking at them. Often people with an invisible illness face a lot of prejudice; others accuse them of faking, lying or exaggerating their illness. People just don’t fully understand what patients with invisible illnesses are going through.

Just because you cannot see a person’s illness doesn’t mean they don’t have one. Just because a person looks OK doesn’t mean that they’re feeling OK. Invisible illnesses often have no cure and patients need to take medication for the rest of their lives to help control and manage the symptoms.

Here are some of the invisible illnesses that could be affecting your friends and colleagues that you wouldn’t know about unless they told you (based on information from bustle.com):

Bronchiectasis

This chronic lung disease is usually due to either a childhood infection that has compromised the lungs or another serious lung disease like COPD or cystic fibrosis. Scarring of the bronchi (branches in the lungs) makes breathing difficult and often results in a chronic cough, chest pain, wheezing, and shortness of breath.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Not to be confused with irritable bowel disease, this serious autoimmune disease manifests itself as either Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Patients with IBD suffer painful ulcers in their digestive tract leading to many symptoms such as internal bleeding, diarrhea and constipation, abdomen pain, fatigue and weight loss. Many patients will need to have part of their colon removed.

Cancer

Cancer comes in many different forms and certainly for most cases you wouldn’t know a person was being treated for cancer unless they told you. While chemotherapy can often make cancer patients lose their hair, other forms of cancer treatment leave no visible outward signs.

Scleroderma

Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease that causes an over-production of collagen. This can lead to problems with skin thickening, joint pain, and internal organ complications. While many scleroderma patients suffer from obvious facial and body changes, other scleroderma patients will not have any visible signs of the disease or signs that are hard for an untrained eye to spot.

Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis is a disease where patients have an increased level of mucus in their vital organs. This primarily affects the lungs and pancreas and is life-threatening. Cystic fibrosis leaves patients susceptible to serious and sometimes fatal lung infections and their pancreas is unable to produce enzymes needed to extract nutrients from food.

Pulmonary Fibrosis

Pulmonary fibrosis is a serious lung disease where scarring of the lung tissue leads to chronic shortness of breath and fatigue. Patients may have pulmonary fibrosis as a secondary illness to an autoimmune disease such as scleroderma or lupus.

Pulmonary Hypertension

Another serious lung disease which can develop as a result of an autoimmune disease or on its own is pulmonary hypertension. An increase in blood pressure in the lungs leads to the right side of the heart having to work harder to pump oxygenated blood back into the lungs, which can cause heart failure.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a musculoskeletal condition where patients experience extreme pain in various trigger points in their muscles and joints, exhaustion and problems with memory and concentration. The condition usually affects women between the ages of 25 and 60.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Mostly affecting men over the age of 50, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate causes men to experience problems with urination. The prostate grows until it begins to squeeze the urethra causing pain and other symptoms involved in urination.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a very common disease in the U.S. Visible signs of the disease include a persistent cough and shortness of breath. Like most lung diseases, there is no cure for COPD, but lifestyle changes and medical treatments can help to slow the progression of the disease.

Lupus

Lupus is another autoimmune disease where the immune system begins to attack the body rather than defend it. Lupus can present a variety of symptoms, some of which may be apparent (like a butterfly rash), but others (like flu-like fevers, chronic fatigue, and internal organ complications) are not visible.

Multiple Sclerosis

There are outwardly visible symptoms of multiple sclerosis but not all patients will be physically handicapped and need a wheelchair. MS presents a variety of symptoms and no two patients experience the disease in the same way. MS is an autoimmune disease which attacks the central nervous system and tampers with the flow of information between the brain and the rest of the body.

Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects a person’s memory and brain function. People suffering from Alzheimer’s disease may be hard to detect during the early years, they may just appear a little forgetful. As the disease progresses, it will become more apparent–patients’ confusion and lack of memory becomes more obvious, as well as the physical symptoms of the disease.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Many people will suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome as a standalone disease, but some have it as a secondary illness. Many patients will experience the same level of fatigue as those with other invisible illnesses such as MS, scleroderma, and lupus but without the physical complications of these diseases.

Despite there being approximately 300,000 people in the U.S. who have scleroderma, many people are either completely unaware of the disease or are confused as to what the disease actually is.

“Didn’t You Promise: A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance (Bad For You #2)” by Amber Bardan #BlogTour 18+

The darkly seductive Bad for You series continues with a romance that Harlequin Junkie notes “will appease fans who have been patiently (or impatiently) waiting for the final surprisingly sweet and tender outcome.”

He always keeps his promises.
Angelina has sacrificed everything to be with the man she loves. Forced to abandon her family, and even her own identity, Angelina depends on Haithem as never before. With no more secrets between them, Haithem has become the source of all her needs. Sexually. Emotionally.
But not even Haithem can hide forever.
While they’re sneaking across borders, avoiding persecution from everyone who would see Haithem dead and his prototype stolen, the media fascination surrounding Angelina’s disappearance continues to mount.
For Angelina, it’s a brutal reminder of what she’s left behind and the pain she’s caused to those who believe her dead or held against her will.
To Haithem, it’s a warning: he stands to lose the one person left in his life he loves beyond measure. The hunt won’t be called off until his enemies have destroyed him, his life’s work and everyone involved—including Angelina.
He has only one choice. He’s promised to protect her. And Haithem always keeps his promises.

   “Tell me your name.”
I blinked, the blunt beautiful features above me coming into focus. “Angel—”
“Not that one.”
My skin prickled. I knew what he wanted. We’d been through this enough times.
   “Lina Kyriakou.”
He walked into me, his hips touching mine, forcing me backwards. “And who are you, Lina?”
My back brushed the wall, the surface cool through the light fabric on my back.
I moistened my lips, my pulse fluttering so fiercely in my throat I almost expected to start spitting out butterflies. He’d coaxed me to say it before—the details of this first scenario.
My favorite of all the scenarios and plans we’d memorized.
Still the words made my tongue stick. I looked at him. Looked right into his midnight irises.
   “I’m your wife.”
The fingers cupping the back of my neck flexed, and a rush of breath kissed my lips.
“You know I almost believed you that time.” His thick lashes drooped. “One more time. Who are you?”
My chest constricted. “I’m your wife.”
“That’s right, you’re my wife,” he said, no hint of a lie to taint his words.
He didn’t need to roll the statement around to test it the way I’d had to. He spoke as though he believed it.
   As though it were true.
Made me think that to him, he and I and this fantasy of a future were simply a matter of time. Almost made me forget that this was only one scenario, and only one of Haithem’s plans for us. Few were so sweet, and not all resulted in us together through all of this.
“Let’s go over things one more time.”
My fingers twitched against his T-shirt. “I thought we were in a rush?”
“We can spare time to make sure.”
“I remember everything we talked about.”
His teeth flashed in that dangerous smile. “Could you remember under pressure?” His hand slipped from my neck and ran down my shoulder, skimmed my breast and gripped the thin belt at my waist. “Because if you need to repeat anything we’ve been through, you can bet you’ll be under pressure.”
Heat curled through my system. “One more time then.” Short breaths, almost pants, puffed between my lips. “And be sure to exert some pressure.

#Preorder Mark Lukach’s Heartfelt Memoir, “My Lovely Wife in the Psych Ward”

My Lovely Wife coverA heart-wrenching, yet hopeful, memoir of a young marriage that is redefined by mental illness and affirms the power of love.

Mark and Giulia’s life together began as a storybook romance. They fell in love at eighteen, married at twenty-four, and were living their dream life in San Francisco. When Giulia was twenty-seven, she suffered a terrifying and unexpected psychotic break that landed her in the psych ward for nearly a month. One day she was vibrant and well-adjusted; the next she was delusional and suicidal, convinced that her loved ones were not safe.

Eventually, Giulia fully recovered, and the couple had a son. But, soon after Jonas was born, Giulia had another breakdown, and then a third a few years after that. Pushed to the edge of the abyss, everything the couple had once taken for granted was upended.

A story of the fragility of the mind, and the tenacity of the human spirit, My Lovely Wife in the Psych Ward is, above all, a love story that raises profound questions: How do we care for the people we love? What and who do we live for? Breathtaking in its candor, radiant with compassion, and written with dazzling lyricism, Lukach’s is an intensely personal odyssey through the harrowing years of his wife’s mental illness, anchored by an abiding devotion to family that will affirm readers’ faith in the power of love.

My Lovely Wife in the Psych Ward is on sale May 2nd; pre-order it from any of the retailers below.

As Alex’s story unfolds, he tells Helen about his life of duty in a series of traumatic flashbacks. ALEX
The curse of my job is in the details.

HELEN
I still maintain that what you were doing was worthwhile.

ALEX
Yeah? Shall I tell you the rest? We left the scene in the hands of the Iraqi fire brigade. It came through later that they found no sign of explosives and there were two more bodies in the back of his car … he had his wife and child in the back. I mean what the fuck? Why didn’t he get out of his car? No-one blamed me for making the call, but I have to live with it. Rumour is he’d killed his family as you could still see the throats had been cut on the two corpses and he was trying to get us to finish him off; either way it’s not like the Iraqis tried to find out. Just another bullshit incident that never made the UK news. You people have no idea what it’s like out there.

We weren’t winning. It was all just fucking pointless. Why are we there? Can you tell me? Because I haven’t got a fucking clue. When I’m out there, I’m there for my friends, for the boots on the ground – no one else. And what have we achieved? Did we make the world any safer? Is it any better for anyone living there? It’s all been so fucking pointless. All for nothing. [Getting really wound up] The cunt politicians – where the fuck are they? Hiding behind their fucking desks and pointing their fingers at each other. We’re sent out there with second-rate equipment and… [Getting more and more wound up and anxious, shaking]

HELEN
Alex! Alex! Stay with me. You’re safe now. Stay with me. Remember you are at a police station. Focus on your breathing…

Alex struggles to maintain his focus. Helen leans towards him; Alex leans away from her.

HELEN (cont.)
I think we should take a break now. Okay? Okay, Alex?

ALEX
I’m fine.

He’s angry that she’s seen him vulnerable and turns away from her.

HELEN
I’ll get you some more water. Try to relax.

Helen stands up and exits room.

Slowly, Alex gets to his feet. He runs his hands over his face, stares out at the audience – uncomfortable eye contact. He stares around, finds the chair, and slowly sags into it. His head slowly sinks into his hands.

“Bear With Me” by Jenika Snow #ReleaseBlitz 18+

BRITTIN

When my brother and his problems had me coming back to Stales, my hometown, I was scared not just for my twin’s health, but also because I knew I’d run into Law, my bear-shifting ex and the sheriff of Stales.

Our breakup hadn’t been grisly, but after nearly two years, the thought of seeing him again had everything tightening in me because … I still loved him.

But that was the past, and I knew I had to move on, right?

LAW

Brittin was the only woman I would ever love. She was it for me, even if she broke it off because of my domineering ways. I screwed up when I lost her, and I spent the next two years regretting it. But she’d wanted space, and when she left for the city, I let her.

But now she’s back, and it’s my chance to show her I can give her everything she wants. It’s my chance to show her I can be the man she deserves.

I just hope I haven’t let too much time pass, because not having Brittin in my life is a fate worse than death.

Warning: This short story features a growly bear shifter, and a stubborn heroine. Bear With Me was previously published under the title “Yes, Sir” and was included in the Cuffed and Claimed anthology. It has since been revised and re-edited, but the story itself is the same.

Law

My bear wanted out, wanted to claim our mate right now. But I told myself I needed to go slow. After all the shit we’d been through over the years, and the fact I’d let her walk away from my own arrogant, demanding attitude, I had to make things right. I had to show her that I knew I’d fucked up.
I had to show her even a bear could make love, could admit he was wrong.
But I liked the rough kind of sex, the kind that had my female submitting to me. And Brittin had been such a perfect submissive. I wasn’t into the whole BDSM scene, but the occasional spank, the random restraining … yeah, that got me off.
But only with Brittin.
I only wanted to do that with her. Only her.
“Tell me you want this,” I growled against the side of her throat. I just stood there with her pressed against the wall, my body pinning her, making her submit to me. “Tell me, Brittin.” I ground my cock against her belly, wanting her to tell me, wanting her to feel how hard I was for her.
“God, Law.”
“Tell me you’re mine, baby.”
“You just think things can be patched up?” She breathed the words out.
She was mine. Only mine.
I wouldn’t let her go.
“No, I don’t think things can just be erased, but I want to show you what we used to have. I want to show you how good it was.”
She closed her eyes and moaned. “I know how good it was, Law.”
I said again, loving hearing her say that.
“I want this,” she breathed out.
I ground my dick into her harder. “Say my name, baby. I want you to tell me how much you want this. I want you to tell me that it was a mistake we stayed apart.” It was my fault just as much as it was hers; I’d stayed away. “Things can be different now, Brittin. I can be a better male to you.” I pulled back and looked at her. She looked drugged right now.
Good.
“This might be a mistake…”
My heart fucking stopped.
“But I want this, Law. I want you.”
I growled out low, my bear pushing for supremacy.
“I want you to make me yours again. Lord help me, but I want things to be different than before.”
Fuck. Yes.
I stared into her eyes. “You’re mine, and I’ll never let you go. Not again. That was the worst damn mistake I’ve ever made.”
She licked her lips. “This is insane,” she whispered. “But fuck me, Law. Fuck me like you’ve been aching for me this entire time.”
“I have, baby.” I leaned forward and ran my tongue up the length of her neck. “Tell me this doesn’t feel good.” I gently bit the spot where I used to all those years ago.
“It would be a lie if I said that,” she whispered, and I groaned in approval.
I rested the tip of my nose right on the side of her neck and inhaled. Yeah, she smelled the same.
So. Fucking. Good.
“It’s only ever been you, baby.” She gasped after my words. “I haven’t been with another female since you. And I don’t want anyone else.” I leaned back and looked into her eyes.
“I haven’t been with anyone else, Law,” she whispered, her eyes wide.
“Are you surprised, Brittin? Did you really think anyone else would compare to you?”
She licked her lips, and I watched the act. “I didn’t want to think about that.”
I lifted my gaze to look into her eyes. “Once we start, I won’t stop. I can’t. Too much time has passed, and I don’t want to waste another second.”
She parted her lips and sucked in a breath.
I leaned in so close our lips were almost touching. “Tell me you want this, and that you want more than my cock filling you.”
She didn’t answer for long seconds, and I wanted to tear through my skin to get the answer.
“Fuck me.” She pulled me close and slanted her lips on mine. “Let’s just take this one step at a time,” she whispered against my lips.
And just hearing her say that, even if she wasn’t telling me she wanted me and all I had to offer, I couldn’t deny her.
She was mine, and I wouldn’t let her get away again.

“Sweetest Obsession” by Ann Mayburn #ReleaseBlitz 18+

From a young age, Ann has had a love affair with books would read everything she could get her hands on. As Ann grew older, and her hormones kicked in, she discovered bodice ripping Fabio-esque romance novels. They were great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms.
